A stunning and finely detailed set of four French 19th century Belle Epoque period Louis XVI st. Ormolu candlesticks, signed F. Barbedienne. Each wonderful candlestick is raised on its square signed base below the socle shaped support above. The circular socle above is edged with a berried laurel vine with foliate decorations around the neck. A reeded edged square platform is located below a smaller scale socle which supports the tapered body above. The square tapered body is tastefully decorated with flowing ribbons and floral designs below a band of rosettes. Above the capital is the candle cup with palmette decorations and a reeded edge.
