A very handsome and unusual table top dressing mirror likely made in Austria in the early to mid 19thC. The shield shaped mirror has a gilded cartouche on the top with the mirror held in place by large carved and gilded eagle/swans on each side of the oval inlaid wood base. On the outside ends of the oval base are gilded elements which appear to be almost wavelike, as if the eagle/swans were swimming through water. The base is veneered in mahogany and inlaid with decorative elements.
