Trix Mirrored Armchairs by Robert Haussmann for Knoll, 1988, Set of 2

Original pair of Trix & Robert Haussmann Knoll armchairs 1988 with the period fabric and glass panels. Robert Haussmann (b. Switzerland, 1931) Trix Haussmann (b. Switzerland, 1933) Husband and wife design partners Robert and Trix Haussmann both have impressive roots in modern architecture. Robert studied under architecture greats Johannes Itten, Gerrit Rietveld, and Willy Guhl; Trix Haussmann studied under Valerio Olgiati and Ernst Gisel. Since then, they have created an extensive portfolio of work, garnering international renown for their command of style and form. Introduced by Knoll in 1988, their lounge seating collection featured a combination of soft and hard edges, producing clean, elegant lines, and superlative comfort. Reflecting the designers’ awareness of environment, the freestanding modules could be fitted with an optional mirrored back, integrating them into any setting. These are a very stylish and exceptionally comfortable pair of armchairs, I have seen a few for sale with later fabric, this is the only original pair of original upholstery I have come across. The fabric is grey, it is worn as you can see in the pictures, it has the period Knoll backing fabric again as you can see The chairs have glass panels all around which is what makes them so rare and collectable, it pulls in light from the back and sides and gives a wonderful three dimensional look and feel to them The condition is original as mentioned, one glass panel has a small imperfection along the base, there is I think one more imperfection but looking at the pictures I can’t see it, the fabric is worn but usable Dimensions Height:- 71cm Width:- 82cm Depth:- 86.5cm Seat height:- 44cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point.
