A rare and unusual pair of antique French mahogany round dish-top pedestal side tables. Handcrafted in France in the late 19th – early 20th century, the similarly styled tiered tables feature flame mahogany (crotch – swirl – figured) circular dish tops with raised step molded edge, over solid mahogany wood pedestal base with diminutive lower tier, one table fluted, the other having a gilt-bronze mounted surround with running ornamentation on border of lower tier, both rising on tripod base of three turned legs joined by center stretcher with finial.
These scarce, hard to find antique tables, circa 1900, have a removable tray style tabletop that with a few turns can be removed, ideal for serving hors d’oeuvre, drinks, or just making storage easy.
