This pair of Austrian Biedermeier petite commodes from the mid-19th century features exquisite veneered tops with rectangular banding over two small drawers. Each central oval mounted plate with bail handle is surrounded by a delicate banding, alternating dark and light wood inlay theme that is nicely echoed throughout the structure of these commodes. Each piece in the ensemble is raised on four elegant tapered legs. The clean silhouettes, typical of the Biedermeier taste, combined with the warm blond / honey color of the wood veneer and perfect size of the pieces, would make these Austrian Biedermeier commodes circa 1840 perfect additions to any home, perhaps as stands or end tables.
