An exquisite early Biedermeier dressing table or console in fine West Indies mahogany, likely from Northern Germany. Features an oval mirror supported on ribbed “wings” that follow the contour of the mirror’s frame and rest on a pedestal over a recessed ledge with five small drawers for cosmetics. The table, which offers one large drawer, is supported in the front by ribbed urns with carved acanthus foliage. The bottom shelf arches back in the center to allow leg room and the use of a chair or tabouret. Finished with French polish. Comes with working lock and one key.
