A beautiful ceramic cat, probably made by the French manufacturer Mesnil de Bavent. The cat is made of terracotta and has a nice tin-glaze layer with clear crackle. The cat has glass eyes.
The sculpture is not marked, but the design, the tin glaze and the subject clearly point to Mesnil de Bavent.
Estimated age: circa 1880-1890.
The sculpture is in good condition with minor signs of age, the photos give a good impression of this.
No restorations and no damage.
