We have been in the business of buying and selling rare antiques for quite some time now, but never before had we seen more than one Black Forest boar at the same time. As you can see, we are herewith offering you the chance of adding three of these rare sculptures to your collection in one go. The details in these antique boars are truly remarkable and the Swiss Black Forest sculptor N. Deneffe has managed to capture these wild creatures very realistically. With their weight on their hind legs and their fierce mouths open they look ready to take on any adversary. All hand-carved out of solid nutwood, the two lighter colored boars are signed at the base (see image 4). Because of the great similarities in style and execution, we feel that the third, darker boar with the glass eyes probably is by N. Deneffe also. The smallest sculpture (on the left in image 1 & 2) has a curved oak leaf in the base that was probably made for holding coins, needles or stamps. From the base of the two larger sculptures one can tell that they were made as Black Forest inkstands. To the buyer of this rare set we will provide glass or porcelain cups that originally would have been where the circular holes are. Apart from a few minor imperfections these top-quality carved Black Forest boars are in very good condition and again great value for money.
Mind you, our price for this marvelous and very rare set of three even includes perfect packing and also worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 days.
