Specifications:
The lid of round golden box is covered with most lovely painting (protected by glass), depicting a little girl:
It is a half-length portrait, showing the girl in front of dark background so that figurine’s details are emphasized
in finest manner. The child’s hairstyle with curled hair is typical for Austrian Biedermeier period / the figurine’s skin is ivory whereas its short-sleeved dress is shaded in cobalt blue. The picture is stored in original casket.
Hallmarked:
1. GOLD 767/1000 (= GOLD 750 CARAT) = VIENNESE HALLMARK FOR GOLD
WITH LETTER A PLUS NUMBER 3 which was used in period 1824-1866
2. Master’s mark existing: AM / most probably Andreas Martin the Elder who received authorization in year 1816
3. Year’s mark: 1828
