Vintage Design
When closed, we see a console table standing on long pointed legs and in brass sabots.
The top is divided into three sections by thread inlays. On the left and right we see a bird inlaid in marquetry technique in a branch of flowers.
The center forms the chessboard.
The rear legs can be moved backwards. This reveals a compartment under the top for storing chess pieces, playing cards and other utensils.
The frame of the compartment serves as a support for the now hinged top. The result is an almost square surface for playing cards and dice.
The piece of furniture is finished and ready for use. There are signs of age and use, which have been restored and preserved.
The cover of the card playing area has been renewed.
