An Austrian Biedermeier period end table from the mid 19th century, with octagonal top, darker accentuation, partitioned drawer, saber legs and lower shelf. Created in Austria during the Biedermeier period in the second quarter of the 19th century, this charming end table features an elongated octagonal top sitting above a two toned apron accented with a darker veneer in its lower section. Boasting a general blond color, the table showcases a single drawer with inlaid shield-shaped keyhole, that opens to reveal a nicely partitioned interior with petite lidded compartments. Its dovetail construction reveals the piece’s age. The ensemble is raised on four slender saber style legs with scrolling extremities. These legs secure a low shelf presenting a serpentine shape. With its graceful lines and blond veneer, this Austrian Biedermeier period end table from the 19th century will make for a lovely decorative addition to any home, perhaps placed in a living room or bedroom, used as a nightstand!
