Made in Switzerland in approximately 1850, this key wind brass cylinder music box is set in a burled walnut case with an inlaid shield in the top and has a glass protective cover over the mechanism. On the inside of the lid is the original label and identifies Samuel Troll Fils as the maker, who is a well known for his workmanship in the production of music boxes from this time period. The music box has its original brass key and is in good period working condition and plays four melodies or ayrs.

Condition:GoodWear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. The On/Off mechanism that holds or releases the tension of the spring could require adjusting as it currently does not function consistently. The cylinder also makes a slight whirring sound on occasion during the playing of the music.
