Produced in France in 1913 and 1914, from a copper-plate engraving, each original piece pictured here was part of a larger folio printed on paper that represented the work of several French engravers. Each is signed: MFN, V.L. Huer, and BMB. The copy at the bottom of the engravings describes the type of clothing, color and materials. Hand-painted engravings of this genre and era articulated so finely, with such artistic flare, and having an editorial quality about them are rare to find!
