The traditional weaving of “Kilim Bessarabia” rugs probably dates back to the late Ottoman period in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Kilim is a variant of carpet, wool or cotton, without surface hair, woven like a wall tapestry, with the presence of the most varied figures ranging from flowers to birds, from a girl dancing to wedding rites, from everyday objects to musical instruments. The peculiarity of this fabric is expressed through the perfect balance between the genuineness and spontaneity of folk art and the refinement of the styles depicted. The Kilim Bessarabia is used not only as a floor carpet but also to adorn walls, dining rooms, coffee tables and furniture for the home. Our model is characterized by a floral composition placed in two symmetrical vases, placed horizontally with respect to the carpet texture. The main flower is the rose and strong you feel the influence of the Western world, brought by the winemakers who worked took the French manufacturers of Aubusson and Savonerie.
