19th century German black forest chip-carved suite desk with drawer and chair.
Impressive and extremely rare Black Forest desk and chair. The rectangular surface is crafted in chip-carving, also known as Kerbschnitt technique. The intricate geometric design in Frisian style is carved in pine softwood. The elaborate top is raised on four turned legs, connected with carved stretchers. The desk is accompanied by a chair with matching carvings.
Good antique condition. Very good patina. Later screws to underside.
