A 19th Century, antique French set of eight dining room chairs made of hand crafted painted Beechwood, in good condition. The set consists two armchairs and six side chairs. The original seat covers are made of hand braided, crafted straw. The slightly curved backrest of the Provence chairs are spindled, standing on four tapered wooden legs, supported by a “H” stretcher, beam. The detailed carved chairs are representing The Belle Époque or La Belle Époque time period. Minor fading, scratches due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1870 – 1890, France.
