Stunning Theodore Alexander burl walnut brown leather top game table. This well made game table shows a lot of character since the beautiful patine all around, makes this piece eye catching from any point of view. The top can be removed to reveal a baize lined chess surface. The table is supported on a plinth base with downwards swept, mahogany legs with bras capping and castors. The chess table stands on a central baluster column, which in turn rests on three cantilevers on the floor. The table top with a decorated chessboard is a very beautiful marquetry work. The base also has partial veneer work. The table has been lovingly restored and is in very good condition.
The top can be unscrewed without tools using a wooden thread. There is a small drawer on one side.

Cherrywood Game Table with green Felt Cover, early 19th Century

A game table on tall, square legs with brass sabots and straight frames. The triple-folded table top is veneered on one side and covered with green felt on the other. Rotating the table top reveals a small storage space underneath the table top, which also serves to stabilize it. The table is veneered in cherry and has been polished by hand.
