Antique French Neoclassical marble & Ormolu pastry Tazza

Of substantial size, a rare find, by repute, the provenance is said to be from the famed French ‘Stohrer Patisserie’ Bakery.
The top crowned with an ormolu acorn finial, mounted on ormolu mounted column, holding the 12-inch wide oval marble tray. Raised on a carved scrolled cartouche alabaster and marble pedestal base.
A stunning presentation for dining or highlighting objets d’art.

Overall measurements:
25-inches high x 17-inches wide x 12-inches deep, raised on a 8.75-inch diameter base.
The oval marble shelf is raised 9.75 inches, the display space is 7- Inches at each side and 5-Inches wide at the top and bottom of the shelf.

Condition Report:
In well cared for antique condition, wonderful warm old world patina, some minor surface scratches, from years of use. Presents beautifully, ready to use, or can be professionally polished.

19th Century French Barbotine Asparagus Covered Server/Platter, Keller & Guerin

19th century French Barbotine Covered Asparagus Server with Matching Platter by Keller & Guerin is another rare find, to be sure! Surviving together for over a century, each still displays rich coloration thanks to the proprietary painting and glazing methods by the well-known French ceramic masters at Keller & Guerin. Note the server bottom for the vegetables has holes to allow excess water to drain onto the platter by design, providing drip free serving. The lid helps keep the vegetables warm while on the table waiting to be served. Having the three piece design also makes cleanup a snap. The artfully cast porcelain combined with the combination of green with eggplant highlights depicts the primary vegetable for which the service was designed. Tres elegante!
Keller & Guerin was a French family pottery that made flow blue, mulberry, and polychrome faience pieces in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The history of the factory dates to 1728. In that year, Jacques Chambrette built his first factory in Luneville near the River Muse in the province of Lorraine. Chambrette began exporting his factory’s products to Italy, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. Since business was so successful and to escape the high taxation imposed by the king on wares from the Lorraine area, Chambrette in 1758 opened a second factory in Saint-Clement where he could escape the high tax rate. After the Luneville factory went bankrupt, Sebastien Keller bought it in 1786 from the Chambrette family. Then, around 1832, the son of Sebastien Keller along with his brother-in-law, Guerin, became owners. For 137 years the Keller family owned the company.

Antique Limoges Fish Platter and Twelve Serving Plates

This is an antique early 20th century French Limoges porcelain George Borgfeldt Co. fish platter and plates serving set of thirteen. One large platter and twelve plates in fantastic shades of salmon, yellow, green and gold with 22 karat gold borders with beading and scalloping relief molding. Each is well hand painted with a different fish species swimming in aquatic grasses and plants. All pieces are in excellent antique condition. No chips, crazing or cracks with no loss of it’s finish and hardly a knife mark at all.

Perfect and beautiful for your holiday table scape and family entertaining. The colors of salmon, green, yellow and gold are absolutely mouth watering and so pleasing to look at and admire, truly a work of art.

Measures: The plates, 8.75″ diameter and 1″ high. The large platter, 17″ long, 10.75″ deep and 1.5″ high.

George Borgfeldt and Co. (Limoges, France) used this early mark from 1906-1920.
