These blue and white porcelain dinner plates will make an excellent set, perfect for entertaining. They have been expertly made in a circular shape with undulations around the rim, with central floral decoration on white ground, surrounded by a royal blue border. The rims are decorated with parcel gilt detailing and further floral decorations on white ground. The floral elements are meticulously painted, and their delightful colourations are framed perfectly by the rich blue and gilt border. Antique Signed Vienna Style Porcelain Hand Painted Cabinet Plate after H. Zatzka

A very fine antique Vienna style porcelain cabinet plate.

Entitled “Eingeheimer Auftrag”, which translates in English as “A Secret Assignment”.

Depicted in the central cartouche is an image of a young woman being attended to by a cherub/putti. The woman is seated at the edge of a garden and appears to be making a request of the cherub who is leisurely perched on the rail fence with a pensive look.

Signed to the lower right ‘H. Zutzka’.

The rim of the bowl is richly decorated with two-toned raised gold decoration and gold jeweling on a light blue to turquoise ground.

Simply a top shelf antique cabinet plate!

Overall Condition:
It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.

Condition Details:
There are some tiny spots of loss to the gold jeweling here & there and some minor rubbing to the gilding. There are a few noticeable scratches in the left side of the center of the plate, and a small firing flaw at the top of the scene that’s painted over with a leaf. Otherwise, there are some very fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
