Vintage Design
This solid mahogany harbor cabinet from the Nantes region features three front doors, two of which open to the right and one to the left.
These are mounted on brass overhung plugs and fitted with functional locks and authentic keys with rear brass lace escutcheons.
Each of these doors is darkened with a single, seamless panel and features a mitered, undercut surround, revealing a moving, grooved molding on the inside.
The crosspiece is cut into scrolls that wrap around the bottom of the legs.
The half-round, undercut uprights end in humped snail feet.
The sides are also darkened with a seamless panel with cut-out top rail and molding on the rails and legs.
The interior features three partitioned spaces, each with a mahogany-fronted drawer fitted with a drop handle in gilded bronze, and a shelf with a curved edge.
This piece is topped with “Noir de Sablé” marble, with a beak-shaped corbel.
The back, drawer interiors and parquet flooring under the marble are in oak.
This “enfilade de port” will seduce lovers of fine furniture with its quality craftsmanship and premium woods.
