Extravagant 19th century Biedermeier pyramid mahogany sideboard or buffet from the later period around 1850 in Austria. A very impressive antique credenza/ halfcabinet which has been elaborately veneered with finest pyramid mahogany. Showing an absolute amazing looking grain, the beautifully mirror matched pyramid mahogany “runs” down from the top to the base without any interruption – a masterly work! This fantastic rare Biedermeier halfcabinet/ buffet provides a lot of storage space behind two lovely created, lockable so-called “pretzeled” doors. Two drawers and a very interesting designed space in the top area: a hinged compartment, means you open up the lockable flap like a writing commode and then push back the top plate, completes the incredible appearance. Artfully handcarved solid pilasters with an exceptional design and the extraordinary crafted key locks made of bone complete the outstanding appearance of this unusual mid 19th century Biedermeier mahogany buffet/ credenza/ sideboard. A real remarkable piece of Biedermeier furniture coming in perfect restored condition.
