Finely hand-crafted in the Baltic Region of Northern Europe in the early 19th century, heavily influenced by Napoleon’s Neoclassical inspired Empire style (1804-1815) in France, having a fine quality solid pine case veneered in stunning flame mahogany and highly figured rosewood, fitted with four graduated drawers, each with hand-cut dovetail joinery and retaining the original inset bone keyhole escutcheons.
Having a raised shaped platform top with single drawer, above projecting rectangular drawer over two massive bow front drawers affixed with brass lion pulls, flanked by classical turned columns in front of gently curved molded case, rectangular plinth base, resting on bun feet.

Great original antique condition with beautifully aged dark warm patina over the whole.
Strong and sturdy. Retaining original antique character and charm throughout, including minor old repairs and touchups, scattered veneer losses, evidence of past powder-post beetle pinholes especially to feet. There are four open rectangular slots in the top towards the back, most likely once supporting a mirror or gallery that is no longer present. Original key not included but we will provide a skeleton key to easily open the drawers.
Delivered cleaned, waxed, with hand rubbed polished French patina finish, ready for immediate use and generational enjoyment!
