This exceptional early 20th century silverplate epergne has elegant detail work on the 4 tulip inserts which can hold flowers in the central area . They are scalloped and sit in the intertwined upper level of the base which is garnished with stylized water lily pads. There are 3 additional lower cups which may hold either tall and stately thin tapers or may merely hold a bud or single blossom. The piece is engraved in the bottom with C & A as well as a registry number 4248, attributable to Croft and Assinder, Birmingham, England, a noted silversmith from the early 20th century. This magnifcent centerpiece will create an incredible ambiance for any table: be it buffet, dining or cocktail.
