Vintage Design
The model of these chairs was in the equipment of Eltz Castle. It goes back to the late Gothic “Abbots Chair” from the Glastonbury monastery in Somerset and is therefore referred to in England as “Glastonbury Chair”. There are a wide variety of adaptations to this chair, there is a reminiscent of the Arts and Crafts movement Exemplar in the V&A Museum and another complex model in Babelsberg Castle in Berlin.
